I'm Zardoya, and I'm living a big, full life.
It's a life very much the same as most in some ways, and very much different from most in other ways.
My life is the same as most in that I've always lived with both feet solidly on the ground. I'm from a very large family of 11 children in a very small town of less than a thousand people. I've been a registered nurse for more than thirty years, and have worked in settings ranging from ICU to Labor and Delivery, Home Care, Education, and Consulting. I've always been a family of one, and have taken care of myself since I left home at the age of eighteen.
My life is different than most in that I'm a fifty-six year old single woman who has traveled all over the world and has spent thirty years studying ancient traditions and philosophies in what can only be called a life-long fascination with the human spirit and how people work. I have a spirit/medicine name, Zardoya, which is an expression of who I really am. I'm a writer in a love-affair with the power of words to move people's spirits, elevate their thinking, and inspire them to action.
This blog is a place for me to think out loud, to write straight from the heart about what it's like to walk with both feet on the ground and my head in the clouds. To ponder what it is to balance the studies of the human spirit and the many practices I've been given with the demands of living in a crazy, chaotic world.
I've been blessed to have remarkable teachers in my life who have provided me with so many tools to use to life a deeper, more fulfilled and peaceful life. And that path is probably not for most. Yet most are seeking, in some way or another, to live a more peaceful life.
Together, one by one by one, we can create peace on this planet. But it starts, always, with the self. So, let's explore! Let's have some fun with Peace!
